【摘要】:Thisfire-test-responsestandardprovidesformeasuringtheresponseofmaterialsexposedtocontrolledlevelsofradiantheatingwithorwithoutanexternalignitor.Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminetheignitability,heatreleaserates,masslossrates,effectiveheatofcombustion,andvisiblesmokedevelopmentofmaterialsandproducts.Therateofheatreleaseisdeterminedbymeasurementoftheoxygenconsumptionasdeterminedbytheoxygenconcentrationandtheflowrateintheexhaustproductstream.Theeffectiveheatofcombustionisdeterminedfromaconcomitantmeasurementofspecimenmasslossrate,incombinationwiththeheatreleaserate.Smokedevelopmentismeasuredbyobscurationoflightbythecombustionproductstream.Specimensshallbeexposedtoheatingfluxesintherangeof0to100kW/m.Externalignition,whenused,shallbebyelectricspark.Thevalueoftheheatingfluxandtheuseofexternalignitionaretobeasspecifiedintherelevantmaterialorperformancestandard.Thenormalspecimentestingorientationishorizontal,independentofwhethertheend-useapplicationinvolvesahorizontaloraverticalorientation.Theapparatusalsocontainsprovisionsforverticalorientationtesting;thisisusedforexploratoryordiagnosticstudiesonly.Ignitabilityisdeterminedasameasurementoftimefrominitialexposuretotimeofsustainedflaming.Thistestmethodhasbeendevelopedforuseformaterialandproductevaluations,mathematicalmodeling,designpurposes,ordevelopmentandresearch.Examplesofmaterialspecimensincludeportionsofanend-useproductorthevariouscomponentsusedintheend-useproduct.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
