【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversacrosslinkedpolyethyleneinsulationforelectricalwiresandcablesinconductorsizes14AWG[2.08mm2]andlarger.Thebasepolymerofthisinsulationconsistssubstantiallyofpolyethyleneorapolyethylenecopolymer.1.2Thistypeofinsulationissuitableforcontinuoususeonpowercablesinwetanddrylocations,forvoltageratingsnotexceeding2000Vandatconductortemperaturesnotexceeding90Cfornormaloperation.Forcopperconductors,theinsulationmaybeappliedovertheuncoatedmetal.1.3Materialscoveredbythisspecificationarenotsunlightandweatherresistantunlesstheyarecarbonblackpigmentedorcontainanadditivesystemdesignedforthisprotection.1.4Inmanyinstancestheinsulationcannotbetestedunlessithasbeenformedaroundaconductor.Therefore,testsaredoneoninsulatedwireinthisstandardsolelytodeterminetherelevantpropertyoftheinsulationandnottotesttheconductororcompletedcable.1.5Whenevertwosetsofvaluesarepresented,indifferentunits,thevaluesinthefirstsetarethestandard,whilethoseinparenthesesareforinformationonly.
